It is freeing to live with the understanding that a sufficient amount of anything is more than enough.
My unexpected life on a Greek island began in 2009 when our two families built houses within walking distance to the sea. This triggered growth and development in all of us and certainly in me, a non-Greek. As a seasonal resident of Naxos, I had ample time to explore the island, learn her history, befriend Naxians and live the fabled Greek lifestyle. Naxos, her people, her traditions, climate, genuine beauty and abundant resources, offered so openly, rekindled my love affair with nature, adventure and being outdoors.
Desiring to live in right relationship with nature, within ourselves and with others, we set about examining the impact of our lifestyle on the environment. It was sobering. We found ways to live more simply and more conscientiously, to consume less of everything and dispose responsibly. In an ongoing process, we seek out ways we can take action to reduce our eco-impact. This is extremely rewarding, makes us feel empowered and hopeful about the future of our planet and this island in particular.
Estate An:Theo is a living lab for continued study and learning, for the formulation of botanical skincare products, for improving our environmental stewardship, for making wine, eating fresh, local food and enjoying our life on Naxos with family and friends, old and new.
The island life we created and that we share on Naxos, the annual seasons that bring many gifts from the land, the people, the Aegean Sea, lures us to this home like a migrating species. We return to simpler times spent in relaxation, reflection, reading & learning, working around our property, hosting family and friends, and so much more.
I enjoy learning local traditions. One such ritual is to bring a small, thoughtful house gift to the host and hostess who invited you. Pots of jam, placemats, a small bowl, a wine you made, produce and fruit because when it ripens, it’s a flood. Fresh herbs you grew or a tea you made.
Through these sharing or exchanges of bounty, I learned about an herb, Helichrysum Italicum. I began to experiment, discovering how to capture the effects of Helichrysum into a desirable, spreadable substance. I formulated a skin healing balm with the potent essential oils of this herb.
Estate Antheo Skin Healing Balm quickly became the gift & bounty I shared with others. Using this balm sent myself and other users on a path of simple skincare with improved skin health.
I immensely enjoy formulating and sharing the balm with others. I hear so many accolades and reports that it works. I love that about it..
Family and friends and supporters have encouraged a next step…a wider user community of family and friends, near, far and online. Okay, let’s see what happens. Follow along to learn and see more.
